Queen’s Square Fair

Teanne and Carmen make a mess with some of the younger members of the community

Making a mess with some of the younger members of the community

On a hot and sunny Saturday morning we set out our stalls in Queens Square. Sue and Gloria set up the Tombola and Veronica & Roisin laid out the plants for sale.  Sam and Ibtesam set up the art exhibition in St. Georges Church with hand made cards and jewellery.  Teanne set up the 1A messy play area on the green with Carmen in place for her ever popular face painting.

It got hotter and hotter and the square filled with people.  The Millman Street singers joined with singers from other centres to form the Mary Ward Choir and gave us a rousing rendition of Jerusalem.

The Gymnastics team from Bedford House performed in the church followed by a taekwondo exhibition then the Ballet class did a moving 45 minute Nutcracker!

Members from Millman Street were present, escorted by some of our fantastic volunteers.  Thanks Ken, Roisin, Bridie, Pila, Gloria, Shirley, Sam, Ibtesam, Grace, Ola and all.

It was a great afternoon and we raised over £400.
