Last Friday (11th December) Millman Street Resources Centre members were taken on a day trip to the British Museum. Pam and Helena, having been to the museum several times before, were perhaps over familiar with the more famous exhibits, such as the Elgin Marbles.
But this time, members took their own artwork: cardboard leaves and fruit which they’d made at the centre, to add to the museum’s Tree of Life exhibit (pictured below). Each of its four sections were made by members of different community groups.
For the mechanically-inclined former engineer George, there was too much time spent sat around drinking tea. “I like going round seeing clocks and stuff like that,” he said.
Ivy enthused about the “beautiful paintings, and dresses” on display, and said, “The scones were very good. The staff were very nice.”
