Long-time friend of HCA, Mrs H of the Singalong Band, has produced a book and audiobook, funded via Kickstarter, where 284 backers raised over £14,000. The book, See My Friends, is for children, and illustrated by Jo Lamb. The audiobook is narrated by the acclaimed actor Toby Jones, seen as recently as last Sunday as Verloc in the final episode of BBC1’s adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s The Secret Agent.
Mrs H and the Singalong Band have performed many times at Millman Street Community Centre for our members, and also for the under 5’s from Bedford House. HCA, having purchased these workshops from her, is proud to have helped to fund the See My Friends project to some extent, and of course we wish her all the best.
Our members are of course familiar with the Singalong Band’s output, and perhaps the most popular of their tunes is Train Song, also featured in the book along with several of Mrs H’s other compositions and illustrated by Jo Lamb.
Mrs H and the Singalong band are due to perform at Millman Street Community Centre again in October.
See My Friend is available now online.
