Yesterday (21st March) saw the culmination of Singing With Heather, the workshop which the eponymous Heather has run at Millman Street Centre for over year or.
She is also a member of the Sugar Sisters (who performed here just before last Christmas), and also performs her own solo material.
The end of term concert at Millman Street Centre was, according to David, “Very good! Lovely singing,” he added. “They did a song for Norman’s friend, Maria, who passed away over the weekend. A good lot of people came.”
“It was lovely,” said Queenie. “They did all sorts of songs, and we all had a sing-a-long.”
“They sang Sway and The Jungle Book song [Bear Necessities],” said Sarah, adding: “They seemed to enjoy it.”
Among other songs, they also sang I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair, What A Wonderful World, and Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered.
“It was good,” said our chef, Ruma. “There were a lot of people. I enjoyed the music as I was cooking.”
Holborn Community Association would like to thank Heather for providing her workshops for our members. We hope that she will return for more at some point, and of course wish her well with both her solo career and with The Sugar Sisters.
